Update to baggage fees within 24 hours of departureWestJet is making changes to its checked baggage policies and providing more options to pre-pay for baggage before travel in order to save. On June 1, 2022, baggage fees will increase by $10 CAD (or currency equivalent) when purchasing checked baggage within 24 hours of departure including when checking-in at the airport. To save, we encourage you to pre-pay for your first or second bag in advance, as there are no changes to the pre-paid baggage fees when purchased before the 24-hour check-in window. Changes to baggage fees will apply to bookings made April 27 onwards, for travel on or after June 1, 2022. Ways to save Through WestJet's flexible fare offerings, travellers can benefit from a first checked bag when booking EconoFlex fares or their first and second bags are included when choosing a Premium or Business fare. As a WestJet Rewards member, travellers can benefit from free baggage options with Silver and Gold members benefitting from two free-checked bags and Platinum members having three. Pre-pay for your bag(s) in advance, at a lower rate. Travellers can pre-pay for their first and second bags through Manage Trips on the WestJet website before the 24-hour check-in window. Otherwise your Uniglobe Travel Advisor can also access pre-paid options. For a full list of WestJet’s service fees, click here |
